Walk Your Digital Store
Digital Shop Assistant Service
As retailers, we walk the floors of our stores. If we see some items of clothing have fallen, then we pick them up and fold them neatly back on the shelf. We notice a wonky shelf and we immediately we set about fixing it. We know that we need to represent our brands in the best possible light.
Websites are not just places where customers can purchase product, but where customers experience the brand, your service, and your values.
• 88% of online consumers are less likely to return to a site after a bad experience
• 75% of consumers admit to making judgements on a company’s credibility based on the company’s website
• Mobile devices are projected to comprise 63% of internet use by the end of 2019 and 61% of users are unlikely to return to a site on mobile if they had issues using it and 40% visit a competitor’s site instead
Our experience has shown us that many websites are not tended to in the same way physical stores are. When we check websites, we typically find many things that are not as they should be. We see things that are broken, things that are not intended, things that are odd, things that don’t make sense, and things that confuse the customer. As a result, we have developed a Digital Shop Assistant that walks the floor and checks for issues including but not limited to:
Product Classifications: e.g. Open-toed sandal incorrectly classified as a closed toe sandal
Prices: e.g. Detection of Pricing Errors – such as odd decimals/odd prices and extreme prices or the violation of basic pricing rules such as Product group A should always be cheaper than product group B.
Promotions: e.g. Odd discounts (low and high extremes, odd numbers) e.g. Save $0.23 OR promotions that don’t make sense e.g. 2 for $55 or $19 each OR missing strike-throughs or missing ‘was’ prices.
Messaging: e.g. Inconsistent messages from the home page to the sale pages e.g. different sales headline messages OR missing photos/descriptions OR broken links
Mobile Site: e.g. Checks against mobile site hygiene and how messaging is working on mobile vs. desktop site.
The Digital Shop Assistant Service provides retailers with regular reports on items that need attention. It’s simple but leverages our decades of in house retail experience.
The service is automated and embeds:
• Data Science
• Deep Retail Pricing Expertise
• Findings from Psychology of Pricing Research
• Unique In House Developed Website Scraping & Analytics Code
The service can also be enhanced with customized reports to, for example, add pricing rules to check whether pricing hierarchies are logical and stable, and good/better/best hierarchies maintained. We can also configure advanced Artificial Intelligence to bring in other data sets such as click-through rates to build reports that can help a retailer better understand how to manage the website and the in metrics that measure Customer Satisfaction.
